San Diego, known for its rich culture, great beaches and abundant sunshine, is filled with wondrous attractions and sites of interest. From historical landmarks to seaside amusement parks, the city is filled with fun and exciting places to see and things to do.

One of the top attractions in San Diego is Balboa Park. This expansive, historic park not only offers an opportunity for rest and relaxation but is also home to some of the city’s top sites. The San Diego Zoo, the Museum of San Diego History, the San Diego Natural History Museum and the San Diego Museum of Art can all be found here.

Another wonderful place to visit in San Diego is Old Town. This historic district is packed with history, heritage, fantastic architecture and some of the city’s most fascinating attractions. Old Town is home to the historic Mission San Diego de Alcala, Heritage Park, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and a wide array of other museums and cultural institutions.

The Maritime Museum of San Diego plays host to many historic ships and landmarks to see. Here, visitors will find the Star of India, the oldest active sailing vessel in the world. Other ships that can be explored include the historic steamer Berkeley and a Cole War era submarine from the Soviet Union.

The Gaslamp Quarter is home to many picturesque buildings and some of the finest Victorian era architecture in the United States. Guided walking tours of the neighborhood are available, and visitors can explore the area’s many museums, shops and cafes on their own too.

Belmont Park is a historic seaside amusement park that offers fun for the whole family. Free of general admission, the park offers roller coasters, beaches, thrill rides and a plethora of arcade games.
