Sea WorldSpring brings new life, and SeaWorld entertainment is embracing the energy of the season with extended hours and a debut of its newest night time attraction, “Shamu Rocks.”
The new show uses the venue created for “Believe,” inaugurated last year, with tons more concert lighting, Ernie says. Audience members will have a chance to participate in pre-show stadium dances and to enhance the atmosphere with purchased glow products. They will be invited to let their lights shine, creating a radiant arena. SeaWorld is still wonderful during the day, too, and the longer daylight hours give guests more time to take it all in. “Our ‘Believe’ show is still going on,” Ernie says, “and there’s Clyde and Seamore, the sea lions, who star in the new show, ‘Risky Rescue.’” Additional ongoing events include the once-in-a-lifetime Wild Arctic Interaction and Dolphin Interaction. Guests go behind-the-scenes for a tour and small group mini-classes where they learn all about the animals and even get close to the sea lions and polar bears. The greatest thrill, at the end of their tour, is suiting up and getting into the water with the beluga whales or the dolphins. But you don’t need a special tour to bump into many of the animals at the park, Ernie says. “You never know what you’ll encounter just around the corner as you’re strolling along the walkways.” You might find a trainer with a baby alligator you can pet. A crane might fly right over your head, and a flamingo may strut right across your path. Another plus about SeaWorld in the spring is the Fun Card. If you buy a one-day full price ticket before April 30, you receive this card, which allows you to return as many days as you want in 2007 for free. That’s a deal that really rocks!
